Rodan Mourns the Loss of Founding Partner and VP Operations

Dear friends and colleagues,

It is with a heavy heart that we advise you of the passing of Bob Tatarka, founding partner and Vice President Operations of Rodan Energy. Bob was instrumental in growing Rodan into a leading North American smart grid solutions company. He will be remembered as a skilled manager who cared for his team and the clients they served. A brief obituary notice is shown below along with detailed information regarding the funeral services.

Bob Tatarka 1948-2010Bohdan (Bob) Tatarka

Passed away peacefully at Credit Valley Hospital on Tuesday September 28, 2010 at the age of 62 after a short and valiant battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Maria Ciesielski, father of Adrianna Grod (Paul) and Michael (Lesia). Loved and adored grandfather of Roman, Danylo, Larysa and Olena Grod, and Michael, Markian and Lukash. Cherished brother of Irene Freeman, Walter (Cathy) and Louis (Nancy). Loving uncle of Michael, Lisa, Andrew and Jeffrey Freeman, Lina and Marie, and Colin, John Paul and Adam. Predeceased by his parents Nicholas and Katherine Tatarka.

Bohdan was born on January 17, 1948 in Munich Germany in a displaced persons camp, and immigrated to Canada at the age of six months. His family settled in Toronto in a red brick row house on Richmond Street which to this day remains in the family. Bohdan cared dearly for his family and community. He was a lifelong volunteer with the Ukrainian Youth Association and recently served on the Executive of the Canada Ukraine Chamber of Commerce. Bohdan was a career veteran of Bell Canada. After his retirement in 2001, Bohdan, an early riser, applied to cut grass at a golf course, however, was otherwise persuaded by his son-in-law to partake in a project and became a founding partner and Vice President Operations, for Rodan Energy a leading North American smart grid solutions company.

Bohdan will be dearly missed by his family, friends and colleagues.

The family will receive friends at Cardinal Funeral Home Annette Chapel (92 Annette St – East of Keele) on Wednesday and Thursday from 6-9 p.m. with Panakhyda at 7:30 p.m. both evenings. Funeral Liturgy on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church (4 Bellwoods Ave. at Queen St., Toronto, ON). Interment at St. Volodymyr Ukrainian Cemetery (1280 Dundas St. W., Oakville, ON)

In Bohdan’s memory donations can be made to the Ukrainian Youth Association of Canada Charitable Trust - Bohdan Tatarka Fund, 83 Christie Street, Toronto, Ontario M6G 3B1 or at the funeral home.

Ділимося сумною вісткою, що 28 вересня 2010 року, на 63-му році життя, відійшов у вічність бл. п. Богдан Татарка.

Залишилися в глибокому смутку: дружина Марія Чизельська, доня Aдріянна Ґрод з чоловіком Павлом, син Михась з дружиною Лесею, і внуки Роман, Данило, Лариса і Олена Ґрод та Михась, Маркіан і Лукаш, сестра Ірина Фріймен, брати Володимир з дружиною Катериною і Любомир з дружиною Ненсій.
