Rodan Energy Client Featured In 2012 IESO Calendar
Rodan Energy Demand Response client, The Powerade Centre in Brampton, is featured in the IESO's 2012 calendar.

The Powerade Centre is featured in the month of February 2012 highlighting the facilities participation in Rodan's Enershift Demand Response program.

The following is the description included with The Powerade Centre's listing in the calendar:

EASING THE PEAKS

Demand response by consumers reduces peaks in electricity demand, easing the amount of generation needed to maintain reliability. When demand and market prices are high, industrial and commercial consumers can provide demand response by cutting back on non-essential energy use. The Powerade Centre in Brampton, participates in the Ontario Power Authority's DR3 program by shutting down its refrigeration system, yet maintaining ice conditions. Small business and homeowners can enrol in the peaksaver program that temporarily powers down home air conditipning units. Demand response is starting to have a noticeable and positive impact on the system. During the July 2011 heat wave, consumers provided 400 MW of demand response to help manage the peak in demand for electricity.

The theme of the IESO's 2012 calendar is "Electricity and the Ontario Consumer."
